Miscellaneous Info:	In 1938, the British War Office (BWO) invited a number of companies to design a new armored scout car, which ultimately became the Daimler Dingo Scout Car series. Three (3) firms produced prototypes: Alvis, Ltd., Birmingham Cycles Ltd. (e.g. B.S.A), and Morris Commercial Cars. Very soon after the construction of the initial vehicles, the BWO added new criteria to the design parameters, most importantly all-around and roof armor protection. The Morris vehicle was quickly eliminated due to mediocre performance, so the choice came down to the Alvis Dingo and the B.S.A. vehicles. Although the two vehicles were roughly equal in performance, the B.S.A. offering was ultimately selected due to its lower center-of-gravity and lower cost.  Although Alvis' design was not selected it's name lived on through the Daimler Dingo production models.
