Miscellaneous Info: | The base Expanded Capacity Vehicle is different than other the HMMWV variants as it can be fitted with armor at the factory (e.g. IAP- Integrated Armor Protection) as well as adding supplemental armor packages later. Also, it is based on a vehicle with a heavier chassis, the M1113 Expanded Capacity Vehicle. The M1151A1 (previously called the M1151PI) is the designation of those vehicles with the IAP fitted at the factory. Similar vehicles on the same chassis are the M1152 Cargo Troop/Cargo/Shelter Carrier (2-door/open cargo bed), the M1165 Command-Control/General Purpose Vehicle (four-door/open cargo bed) and the M1167 ITAS/TOW Missile Carrier. |
