WarWheels.Net - 1/35 Dragon Premium Edition Sdkfz 234/4 Armored Car Model Photos

This is Dragon's 1/35 Premium Edition SdKfz 234/4 Armored Car Model Kit (6772) built mostly out of the box. From the photos I could find, the tyres Dragon provided with the kit were right for late war 234/4's. However, to provide some contrast to my project, I decided to add one different pattern tyre to each side. I also added photo etched tool clasp handles (a strange omission, Dragon!) and some stowage from Reality in Scale. The figures are by Evolution, and the markings are from Archer Fine Details and the spares box. Lastly, the base and advertising kiosk are by Reality in Scale, and the side of the house is by Miniart.

As for painting, I studied every late-war photo of 234's I could find, and it looks like a hard-edged camouflage pattern was standard. Therefore, I hand brushed the green and brown colors using Xtracrylics in a darker tone and then airbrushed the inside of the colours in lighter-toned Tamiya acrylics. This seems to give some definition between the colour separation lines to me.
