| Miscellaneous Info: | The Pearson Engineering Route Opening & Clearance Capability (PEROCC) Vehicle is a single system designed to both detect and clear mines and improvised exposive devices (IED) quickly while under heavy protection. The PEROCC can use any commercially available pivot steer/wheel loader, althougth Pearson has selected Caterpillar Inc. products as they are a brand preferred by the US Military. PEROCC is a very flexible system as it can allow the fitting of quick change equipment options, such as an articulated interogation arm, bucket, counter-IED rollers, ground penetrating radar suite and ripper arm. Also, the vehicle has dedicated space for carrying spare parts such as extra rollers and blast-off wheels so that it can be repaired quickly on-site. Although PEROCC has undergone performance testing with a number of militaries, including Great Britain and Norway, it appears that it is not presently in service with any country. |
