Miscellaneous Info: The Enok 4.8 AB (Airborne) Vehicle and the Caracal Air Assault Vehicle are almost identical, but not exactly the same.  Thusly, we are combining the two vehicles into one index.

The initial Enok 4.8 AB Vehicle was originally designed by Armoured Car Systems GmbH (ACS) for Airborne, Reconnaissance or Special Operations duties. It used the Mercedes G461 chassis/automotive components and their own vehicle design.  It was produced by ACS and sold to a number of countries (listed above). Later vehicles instead used the improved Mercedes G464 base.

Afterwards, Rheinmetall Landsysteme partnered with ACS to fulfill a requirement to produce a larger order for German and Dutch use.  Rheinmetall took on the final assembly of the newly baged Caracal Air Assault Vehicle (AAV). Although very similar, the Caracal uses the later Mercedes G464 chassis and components. Like its predecessor, the Caracal is modular in design and can perform the above missions, as well as attack, transport, engineer and medical evacuation duties.  It is can be produced in approximately 28 variants, in both 4x4 and 6x6 configurations. It also has the capacity of scalable protection levels.  Both the Enok 4.8 AB and Caracal are air-transportable via most heavy-lift aircraft as well as CH-47F and CH-53K helicopters.  Besides the weapons mentioned above, the vehicle has been seen fitted with the M134 7.62mm minigun and HERO 120 Loitering Munitions.
