The Csaba was designed by the famous Nicholas Straussler and based upon his pre-war Alvis-Straussler AC-3 and AC-3D armored car he built for the British Royal Air Force and Dutch respectively.  By Legend, “Csaba” was the name of Attila the Hun’s son, but can be roughly translated as “shepherd” or “gift” in Hungarian.  The only other variant was a radio-equipped command version, sometimes referred to as the 40M.  The command Csaba was equipped with extra radio equipment and fitted with only one 8mm machine gun in the turret.
