The EE-3 Jararaca (Pit Viper) scout car was produced to compliment the capabilities of the earlier ENGESA products: the EE-9 Cascavel 4 & 5 Armored Recon Vehicles and EE-11 Urutu APC.  The Jararca shares many parts and components with the other vehicles which lowers costs and eases maintenance problems.  Although the vehicle can carry multiple armament options, it has only other variant: the Nuclear, Biological & Chemical (NBC) Recon Vehicle.
