Miscellaneous Info:	The Eitan Wheeled Fighting Vehicle Series was developed by the Israeli Defense Forces to replace the aging tracked M113 Armored Personnel Carriers (APC) that have been in use for decades. It will be fielded to supplement the use of the tracked Namer APC, not to replace it. "Eitan" is translated from Hebrew into English as "Strong" or "Persistent".  The first variant of the Eitan, the APC, will go into service in 2022.  However, there are two (2) other variants that will also be fielded, these being the Command Vehicle and the Infantry Combat Vehicle (ICV).  The ICV will be fitted with an unmanned turret mounting a 30mm or 40mm Cannon, a 12.7mm HMG co-axial machine gun and a SPIKE Anti-Tank Guided Missile Launcher. Due to the flexibility of the Eitan's design, other variants are also possible.
