Miscellaneous Info:	Krauss-Maffei-Wegmann (KMW) entered their Grizzly modular armored vehicle in the Class 4 (Up to 25 ton payload) category of the German Geschützte Führungs und Funktionsfahrzeuge Program (GFF). GFF is translated into English as "Protected Command & Role-Specific Vehicle".  The only other competitor was the Rheinmetall Wisent. The Grizzly was developed in conjunction with Iveco Defense Vehicles, which markets a VERY similar vehicle on their own, which is named the Medium Protected Vehicle.  Although the Germans apparently purchased a small number of the GFF-4's for testing and evaluation purposes, it does not seem that they were adopted at the time of writing (2023).  The later renamed GFF-4 Armored Command & Utility Vehicle is based upon a militarized Iveco 6x6 Trakker truck chassis and utilizes a modular design which can be manufactured in many different variants to fulfill a wide-range of roles and missions.  In fact, the GFF-4 can be built in 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 configuration, although the 6x6 is the most commonly photographed version.  Specific variant possibilities listed by KMW are Ambulance, Armored Personnel Carrier, Cargo, Escort, Patrol and Surveillance.
