Miscellaneous Info: | The Gepard ('Cheetah" in Czech) was designed specifically for long-range special forces and airborne missions. It is envisioned to replace the Czech Land Rover D130 Kajman (Cayman) Rapid Deployment Vehicles, which are slated for retirement in the mid to late 2020's. The Gepard is based upon the proven Toyota Land Cruiser 70 chassis and automotive components and can be fitted with supplemental armor and mine protection. Although a large and heavy vehicle, the Gepard's engine is powerful enough to also tow braked-trailers up to 3.5 tons. |
