Miscellaenous Info: The LAV-ATWS (Anti-Tank Weapon System) is the improved anti-tank vehicle in the United States Marine Corps family of Light Armored Vehicles (LAV). This variant is also referred to as the LAV-ATM (Anti-Tank Modernization) vehicle. It succeeded the earlier LAV-AT (Anti-Tank) variant in service.

The main upgrade of the ATWS is the new unmanned MTAS (Modernized Target Acquisition System) turret which replaces the previous Emerson 901 component. Unlike its predecessor, the new turret offers full protection to the crew, especially while reloading.  Other turret improvements include electronic drive (elevation & azimuth) and upgraded sighting/targeting systems. The new turret also includes an on-board trouble-shooting system and 3D computer training software, not available with the earlier AT variant.  The ATM can also fire both wire-guided and radio-frequency controlled missiles while on the move. The first vehicles went into service in 2017, with full operational capability in 2019.
