In the late 1980's/early 1990's another attempt was made to develop the LAV-AG (Assault Gun); more commonly referred to as the "LAV-105". The 105mm EX35 (or "XM35", depending on the source) cannon was fitted in a turret designed by Cadillac-Gage and proved successful. In fact, it exceeded all USMC firing tests during trials conducted in 1993. Despite that, no production contract was granted, most likely due to changes in the US Military's priorities. |
