The RSOV is based on the
Land Rover Defender 110 Station Wagon
Chassis and was the replacement for the
M151A2 "Super Jeep".
The roll cage-weapons mount was designed/fielded before (and different from) the British Weapons Mount Installation Kit (WMIK) seen on other Land Rovers. The Rangers also field MEDSOV (Ambulance), Command/Control/Communications ("Shark") and MORTSOV (Mortar Carrier) versions of the SOV. |
