Command Vehicle (CV) is the mobile command post in the Stryker vehicle
series. It contains enough room to
accommodate the crew and the applicable command staff/personnel.
The CV comes in five (5) configurations and is fitted with the
appropriate command, control and communications equipment needed for
each type of vehicle. The configurations are Brigade Commander CV,
Battalion Commander CV, S3 TAC (Tactical Command Post?) CV, RSTA
(Reconnaissance, Surveillance & Target Acquisition) Squadron Commander
CV and Battalion S3 & Tactical Air Control Party/USAF Vehicle. Over its lifespan, the CV has been upgraded with improvements to armor and automotive components a number of times. The CV is one of the vehicles that has been fitted with the new Double-V Hull (DVH) to protect against Improvised Explosive Devices (IED's). The vehicles fitted with the DVH are referred to as the M1255 CVV and the vehicles with added enhancements as outlined in the Engineering Proposal Change (ECP), the M1255 CVV-A1.
