Miscellaneous Info:	The 2S23 Nona-SVK Self-Propelled Gun/Mortar System was designed to provide Soviet/Russian Ground Forces with mobile artillery support.  The vehicle is based upon the BTR-80 APC hull with some modifications including the elimination of some of the roof hatches, vision and firing ports and modified side hatches. It uses the same dual-purpose breech-loaded gun as the towed 2B16 Nona-K and tracked 2S9 Nona-S weapon systems. Although it can perform direct-fire missions, it is rarely utilized in that way The name "Nona" is a Russian acronym meaning "Newest Ordnance of Ground Artillery". Approximately 60 were built over a number of years, with 18 being sold to Venezuela.  It is not clear if the Venezuelan vehicles were part of the 60 noted as built or in addition to them.  Also, one (1) of the production vehicles was left in Ukraine after the break-up of the Soviet Union and a few were captured during the war with Russia.  There is one variant of the Nona-SVK; One vehicle was modified into a Special Fire-Fighting vehicle by the removal of the gun with a water-cannon replacing it.
