Miscellaneous Info: | The Scorpion Mine Protected 81mm Mortar Carrier was developed to provide Rhodesian weapon crews with more mobility so as to be better able to avoid counter-battery fire. The Scorpion used the strengthened chassis and automotive components from the Mercedes-Benz UNIMOG 416 4x4 truck. However, it was fitted wiih a custom armored body and rear tray to protect the weapon and crew. |
