Miscellaneous Info: | The Sdfkz 260 and 261 Small Armored Radio Command Cars (kleiner Panzerfunkwagen) was closely related to the the Sdkfz 221, Sdkfz 222, and Sdkfz 223 as they were based on the same chassis and had similar armored hulls. Both the Sdkfz 260 and 261 were used at higher command levels and they were almost identical except for the radios and antennas fitted. The Sdkfz 260 was fitted with the Fu 7 and Fu.Spr.Ger."a" radios, which used a rod antenna for operating on the same frequency band as aircraft. On the other hand, the Sdkfz 261 was fitted with a Fu 12 and Fu.Spr.Ger."a" radios using a large frame antenna for longer range communications. |
