The prototype Trackless Tank was the predecessor of what was later to be developed
as the T13/T13E1 Armored Cars. The T13 base chassis was also
planned to be used for two (2) other variants, the T7 3-Inch Gun Motor Carriage as well as the T39 105mm
Howitzer Motor Carriage. The production of all three (3) of the
variants mentioned above was later cancelled after only a few T13's and
T13E1's were built. After a few T13 Armored Cars were built, two (2) modified vehicles were produced with a longer hull to accommodate 12x30 combat tires as well as the fitting of the 7-Cylinder Continental W670-9A gasoline engine. However, no other production occurred as indicated above. |
