| Miscellaneous Info: | This vehicle followed the Ford/Marmon-Herrington T5 4.2 inch Mortar Motor Carriage, but used a modified M2A1/M3 Scout Car base instead. Like its predecessor, it also carried a 4.2-inch chemical mortar which was fired from the ground using a folding mount. A total of six vehicles were completed at the Rock Island Arsenal. For a brief time the T5E1 carried the designator, Carriage, Motor, Mortar, 4.2-inch, M2. Its armor protection was the same as the M2A1/M3 Scout Car. |
