The Chemical Reconnaissnace Vehicle (CRV) serves the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force's by detecting Nuclear and Chemical agents.  It is NOT designed to detect Biological Agents. The CRV was built in two versions, "Type A" and "Type B". The key recognition feature between the two versions is that the earlier Type A vehicles have the Anemometer (wind measuring device) mounted on the hull, whereas the Type B vehicles have retractable sensors instead.  A total of approximately 47 vehicles were produced before being replaced by a new 8-wheeled NBC Reconnaissance Vehicle in 2012. The CRV is the only official variant of the Type 82 Command and Communications Vehicle.  However, the Komatsu Type 87 Reconnaissance and Patrol Vehicle shares many of the same systems and components with both vehicles.
