| Miscellaneous Info: | In 1940 the Canadian Department of Munitions & Supply decided to concentrate on building "wheeled tanks" as they determined that Canadian industry didn't have the capacity to produce a sufficient number of tracked vehicles for the war effort. As a result, they proposed two (2) wheeled vehicle types, one 6x4 and the other 8x6. Ultimately the 6x4 option was never pursued further after the Fox 1 4x4 Armored Car emerged and the 8x6 vehicle morphed into what would become the Wolf 1 8x8 Armored Car. Although showing some promise, it was ultimately cancelled after one prototype was built. |
