Canadian Brigadier Rockingham's Converted
M8 Greyhound Command Vehicle
Model Photo
Model and Photo Courtesy of Steve Guthrie - Peterborough, ONT Canada
Brigadier John Rockingham was
the commander of the 25th Commonwealth Brigade during the Korean war. This was
the major Canadian Combat unit of that conflict. Rockingham used the converted
M8 as a command car fitted with both a High Power No.19 set and an R107
receiver. The turret was permanently fixed in position and a roof with two
hatches was added. The main armament has also been removed and the ports
welded up. The model was converted from the 1/35 Italeri M8 Greyhound kit.
