The most significant upgraded feature of this vehicle is an improved drive train so as to increase payload, protection and performance. Both 4x4 and 6x6 basic configurations are available, although most in service are of the 4x4 variety.  Denmark, Germany and Switzerland have purchased a number of variants, including the Danes' 4x4 Patrol Vehicle, the Germans' 4x4 Utility Vehicle for Command Staff and the Swiss' 4x4 Explosive Ordnance Reconnaissance and 6x6 Reconnaissance Vehicles.  The 6x6 Recon Vehicle is slated for going into service in approximately 2023.

Possible vehicle configurations include ambulance, APC, artillery forward observation, command, explosive ordnance disposal/reconnaissance, logistics, military police, patrol/reconnaissance, recovery and special forces options.
