December 14th Hot on the heels of his last review from a couple days ago, Al Crawford has sent us another look at a book written by David Doyle.  This one covers "MaxxPro MRAP: A Visual History of the MaxxPro Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles". 
December 12th Today we've posted Alan Crawford's book review of "Gun Trucks: A Visual History of the U.S. Army's Vietnam-Era Wheeled Escort Platforms", which is authored by David Doyle.

November 21st It's "Mecanix's Monday Model Madness" due to his submission of photos of one of his latest projects: a 1/35 scratchbuilt Peerless (1919) Armored Car Model.
November 20th Fellow AMPS Chicagoland club member, Mike Oberholtzer has sent us some photos of his beautiful 1/35 Trumpeter Puma 4x4 APC model kit.  This model looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

November 10th   The November issue of Classic Military Vehicle magazine is on our possession and I'm very happy to say there's a stack of articles dedicated to "our kind".  They are "A Class Apart" (focusing on AEC Command Vehicles and other unusual AEC armored behemoths) by David Fletcher, "Beaverette IV", by Phil Homer, "The Good, the Bad and the Downright Mad" (featuring Land Rover Oddities) by James Taylor and "The Legendary Lightweight" (covering the Land Rover Series IIA & III Half-Ton versions), also by James.
November 6th Today, we present an index covering the third finalist in the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle competition: the Lockheed Martin JLTV.
November 4th A little light housekeeping for today.  First, we've included a hyperlink to the US Army Air Defense Artillery Museum's Facebook Page on our "Links" page.

October 1st Today we have added a few new photos courtesy of Denel Land Systems. They cover their G6 "Rhino" Self-Propelled Gun and Rooikat Armored Car.

September 28th   We've just pulled the October copy of Classic Military Vehicle magazine out of the post box and I think you'll like it.  It is touted as the "Jeep Glory" special issue and contains a number of articles which cover the buying and owning of one of these iconic vehicles.  In addition, it contains another interesting article titled "On All Fours", which is authored by the one and only, David Fletcher. The article covers the early Jeffrey-Quad, Russell, Mack, Locomobile and White Armored Cars.
September 27th (Owned by WW sponsor, Lucky Model.com) has announced they are releasing a 1/35 RG-31 Mark 5 Mine Protected Vehicle model kit (61015).
September 25th Trying to stay caught up with hobby product announcements, here's a few more coming our way. July 31st   We just received Classic Military Vehicle's August 2016 issue and if you're interested in Post-World War Two British Wheeled Fighting Vehicles, you'll be mighty pleased.  It contains two articles: "Cat's Tale" (featuring the SUPACAT All-Terrain Mobile Platform) by John Norris and "Military Land Rovers Out In Force!" (follows author Tim Bolton on his trip to the Malvern Land Rover Show).  However, the highlight of the issue is that it contains the special supplement "Military Land Rovers", compiled by John Carroll.  The supplement covers all the main production Land Rover variants from the Series I through the current Wolf TUL/TUM.

June 5th Well... we're back.  The reason why there was not much being posted as of late was that I (Patrick) was in the process of a home move.  That just finished up, and although I'm still working like a dog, I'm finally able to start devoting some time back to WW.  So, thanks for hanging in there with us. Today's update is a small one: we added a hyperlink to the new David Doyle Books website on our "Links" page. David has been very supportive of WW over the years and we want to be able to do the same for him. 
April 26th   Like clockwork, we just received Classic Military Vehicle's May 2016 issue on schedule.  It contains two articles dedicated to armored cars/wheeled fighting vehicles.  They are"French Connection"  by Editor Ian Cushway, which features a replica Citroen 2CV G.H.A.N. 1 and "Too Little, Too Late"  by James Taylor, which covers the 1950's era West German Borgwald-Goliath Type 34 4x4 Utility Vehicle.
April 25th   Today we have a very small update in the form of a photo showing a uniquely colored M-ATV: in white Multinational Force & Observers Livery. Thanks to Joe Trevithick for pointing this out to us.
April 22nd Yeah, it's been awhile since we posted anything.  But, we're still alive and kicking, so don't worry about that: we've just been busy with real life.  Anyway, today we present Christophe Jacquemont's first look review of BSM's 1/35 French WWII Armoured Car "Joseph Camaret" Model Kit.  Stay tuned for additions to the review as he works his way through the build.
March 31st Today we've added a hyperlink on our "links" page to a new website: the Quartermaster Section.  According to the site's owner, Ian McCarthy, it is a "base for information regarding weapons and vehicles from the period 1920-1950".  Check it out as it has a nice collection of information and photos covering armored cars and other wheeled vehicles.
March 27th   It's a double bonus month because we also just received Classic Military Vehicle's April 2016 issue.  This installment is billed as their "Buying at Auction Special Issue", which covers the how, what and where of buying military vehicles. Although the issue is not solely dedicated to wheeled vehicles, it does spotlight many, including an article dedicated to the purchase of a Staghound Mark 1: "Auction Fever" by John Hickman.  Finally, there is one other article highlighting "WarWheels appropriate" rigs: "Not Quite the Comeback Kid" by James Taylor.  The article features the 1950's era West German Porsche Type 597 4x4 Utility Vehicle.

March 1st   We've just received Classic Military Vehicle's March 2016 issue and it contains one "wheelie-centric" article: "Ferreting Around" by vehicle owners Paul Abbitt and Robert Davies. However, there's another article titled "Siberia's Military Gold Mine" authored by James Kinnear and Aleksandr Koshavtsev that should be of interest to you as well.  It covers a relatively unknown military museum (to us in the West) located in Verkhnaya Pyshma, Siberia that houses some unique Soviet Armored Cars, including a BA-27, BA-64B, FAI and more.
February 29th WW sponsor, Minor Model, has sent us their first newsletter of 2016.  Although it doesn't contain any products dedicated solely to armored cars or wheeled fighting vehicles, there is one new product for a "half-wheel" (half-track).  It is their 1/35 Sdkfz 251 Up-Armored Command Halftrack Conversion for the Zvezda kit. January 22nd Once again, there have been a couple additional hobby modeling products recently announced including CMK's 1/35 Škoda P-II "Turtle“ Austrian Police Vehicle Conversion (3139) for the Takom kit and Mirage Hobby's 1/35 WZ.34 Armoured Car 1934/II Model Set, which includes the kit, paint, brush & glue (835096).

Also, we've added a hyperlink in our "Links" section to S&S Models, a British company that produces small scale model kits.
January 19th Voyager Model has announced more new products in their "Bright" Series of Light/Lense Sets.  They are 1/35 Opel Truck Lenses and Taillights - Set A (BR35049) for the Dragon Kit, 1/35 M1078 LMTV Truck Lenses and Taillights (BR35078) for Trumpeter Kit 01004, 1/35 MIM-104 Patriot SAM System w/AN/MPQ-53 Radar Set Lenses and Taillights (BR35097) and M983 Tractor Lenses and Taillights (BR35098), both also for the applicable Trumpeter Kits.
January 14th We've updated our vehicle index covering the T21 Armored Car, including adding another photo and an improved data sheet.  Also, one hobby modeling product has been announced by Hussar Productions :  a 1/35 BRDM-2 "Mitas" Wheel Set (HSR35122) for the Trumpeter kits.
January 12th There's more hobby modeling products recently announced including Hobby Boss' 1/35 SdKfz 223 Leichter Panzerspahwagen -1st Series (83817) Model Kit, 1/35 39M Csaba Armored Car Model Kit (83866) and Model Miniature's 1/72 Special Forces/Technical Pickup Model Kit (MM-R189).
January 7th Today we just have a couple new hobby modeling product announcements.  They are ICM's 1/35 German Panzerspahwagen P 204(f) Armored Car (Panhard 178) Model Kit (35374) and W-Model's 1/72 resin "Patriot in German Service" Surface To Air Missile System Model Kit (WB16).  This kit consists of a MAN KAT I A1 7-Ton Transporter fitted with the MIM-104 Patriot SAM System.
January 5th   We've received Classic Military Vehicle's first 2016 issue (January, obviously) and it contains two articles dedicated to the "wheelies"  we crave.  They are "A Bride in Waiting" (featuring the BTR-90 Rostok APC) authored by James Kinnear and "Sink or Schwimm" (covering the Type 128 & Type 166 Schwimmwagen) by Piotr Mariusz Radomski.
