Miscellaneous Info: | Designated the Autoblindo Alleggerito (Lightened Armored Car) Model 1942, this vehicle was created as an improved, yet simplified replacement to the AB 41. For instance, the rear driver's position, rear machine gun and free-rotating spare wheels were elminiated. Although it never advanced past the prototype stage, some of it's features were incorporated into the later AB 43 (turret and improved engine) and even the Camionetta Desertica Model 1942 (Chassis). An experimental vehicle was also created mounting a 47mm L/32 Anti-Tank Gun, but also never fielded as well. |
