The Akrep 2 ("Scorpion" in English) Armored Reconnaissance, Surveillance & Weapons Platform is a multi-role vehicle designed to perform Counter-Insurgency, Escort/Patrol, Fire-Support, Forward Observation, Light Strike, Reconnaissance and Security roles.  Besides the Fire Support and Forward Observation duties, it is similar to its predecessor, the Akrep Armored Patrol Vehicle. According to the manufacturer, variants include Anti-Aircraft Missile Carrier, Anti-Tank Missile Carrier, Armored Reconnaissance Vehicle, Fire Support Vehicle (25/30mm), Fire Support Vehicle (90mm) and Forward Observation Vehicle (Air Force or Artillery). The ARV is reportedly fitted with a remote-controlled weapons station mounting a 7.62mm or 12.7mm Machine Gun; the FSV 25/30m has been fitted with a Bozok remote-controlled turret and the FSV 90mm mounts a Cockerill CSE 90LP cannon. In addition, the Akrep 2 can accommodate different types of engines, including a turbo-diesel (designated Akrep IId), Electric (Akrep IIe) and Hybrid.  It can also be adapted for autonomous operations (remote-control).
