The Blindado Caza Tanque A2
(BCT-A2) (In English, "Armored Tank Hunter Model 2"*)
followed closely after the BCT-A1
was put into production. The latter vehicle is of a more
traditional design than the former, and is based upon the Dodge RAM 3500
pick-up truck. Unofficially, the A2 is also called the "Garrabo",
which translates to "Lizard" (Black Iguana) in English. Reportedly, four
(4) vehicles are in operation with the anti-tank platoon of the Cavalry
Regiment. *The light 20mm cannon used has some capability to destroy enemy armor due to the use of armored piercing (AP) ammunition. |
