Miscellaneous Information: The LAV L is the Logistics vehicle in the United States Marine Corps family of Light Armored Vehicles (LAV) and was one of the initial six (6) variants procured.  The LAV-L fits the role of an armored supply and cargo vehicle that can successfully and safely support forward combat elements.  The payload of the LAV-L is 4,000 lbs of cargo plus 1,440 lbs of ammunition and is fitted with a hand-chain hoist (1-ton capacity) to help load and unload contents. The LAV-L is often confused with the similar LAV-C2 as both are equipped with a raised superstructure.  However, among other differences the LAV-L is a bit shorter and has a different roof hatch arrangement.
