The Light Armored Vehicle 6.0 (LAV 6.0), is a much improved series of vehicles based on the earlier Canadian LAV III. The main variant on the LAV 6.0 series is the Infantry Section Carrier (ISC). The improvements were based upon lessons learned from the Canadians' service in Afghanistan. In fact, there have been so many improvements and upgrades made to the new LAV 6.0, it is for most intents and purposes, a completely new vehicle when compared to the earlier LAV III. Improvements include a double V hull, new driveline, new suspension, larger wheels/tires, more powerful engine, advanced electronics and new visual/targeting systems. Little more than the bare hull, cannon and a few small assemblies remain unchanged from the initial vehicle.

Besides the ISC, other variants in the LAV 6.0 series are the Command Post Vehicle, Engineer Vehicle, Light Armoured Vehicle Reconnaissance Surveillance System Vehicle (LRSS), and Observation Post Vehicle. In addition, although not technically a variant, the very closely related Armored Combat Support Vehicle (ACSV) series is based upon the LAV 6.0 as well. To add a bit of confusion to this vehicle series, General Dynamics offered its own Combat Support Vehicle (CSV) Ambulance and Maintenance & Recovery variants.  However, those vehicles are different than the comparable ACSV variants and we are not certain if the CSV's are still offered for sale or not.
