Miscellaneous Info: | The "Tangi" (meaning "Tank" in the African Swahili language) was designed and built by the Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) and are based on the strengthend Defender 110 Land Rover Chassis. This vehicle was developed right around the same time as the Glover-Webb APV, which was designed for use by the British Army in Northern Ireland. The Tangi was succeeded by the Pangolin Armoured Land Rover Mark IV and Penman ALR Mark IV. |
