| Miscellaneous Info: | The M1129 Mortar
Carrier (MC) is the Stryker Series vehicle designed to provide indirect
fire for U.S.forces. The MC-A vehicle was
basically a mortar transport vehicle and did NOT have the capability to
fire the weapons from inside the vehicle. However, the MC-B Vehicle was
built such that it could fire the mortar from the inside of the carrier.
The "A" vehicles were replaced with the "B" vehicles, once thy became
available. Over its lifespan, the MC has been upgraded with improvements
to armor and automotive components a number of times. The MC is one of
the vehicles that has been fitted with the new Double-V Hull (DVH) to
protect against Improvised Explosive Devices (IED's). The vehicles
fitted with the DVH are referred to as the M1252 MCVV and the vehicles
with added enhancements as outlined in the Engineering Proposal Change
