Miscellaneous Info: | As an alternative to the T17E1 Staghound, the T19 Armored Car was built, of which two were completed. Using a different hull than the Staghound, the turret of that vehicle was fitted on the T19. Testing showed the design was too heavy for an efficient reconnaissance vehicle, so one of the protoypes was modified to improve the design and lighten the vehicle. The result was the T19E1 was built, of which only one was completed. However, as the war in North Africa was over, it was decided that vehicles of such size and weight were no longer needed. |
