Miscellaneous Info: Following the first standardized armored cars designed by the Admiralty (Rolls-Royce/Talbot/Wolseley First Pattern Armored Cars) at the beginning of World War One, a new design of armored car was put forth. Among other things, the new vehicles were fitted with a new armored hull, a fully enclosed crew compartment and a rotating turret which mounted a machine gun. The Talbot Armored Car (sometimes referred to as Clement-Talbot) was one of those new "Admiralty Turreted" Pattern* vehicles. The other vehicles fitted with the Admiralty Turreted Pattern improvements included the Delaunay-Belleville, Lanchester and Rolls-Royce 1914 Pattern Armored Cars.

The Talbot Armored Cars were based on the slightly upgraded "25/50" touring car chassis and design. The Talbot was nearly identical to the Rolls-Royce cars, except for different wheels and radiator armor. The wheels were changed from wire-spoked types to more robust Warland rims with artillery spokes.  Only three (3) Talbot Admiralty Pattern cars seemed to have been built. This choice was likely made due to sub-par performance because the engine and transmission were overburdened by the weight of the cars. Despite that, the Talbot Armored Cars did serve in England in the anti-invasion role.  However, not much information about the cars' use after that is known. There are indications that the remaining cars/chassis were possibly converted to "tenders" used in support of subsequent armored car operations.

* The nomenclature "Admiralty Turreted Pattern" was normally omitted when referencing the vehicle.  It was simply the "Talbot Armored Car".
