Miscellaneous Info: | Mobility Technology International (MTI) designed the Cheetah based upon a stock Lamborghini dune buggy for the late 1970's U.S. Army Combat Support Vehicle (CSV) Project. The CSV Project was cancelled and some design criteria were incorporated into the new High Mobility Multi-Purpose Vehicle (HMMWV) program. Teledyne Contiental Motors subsequently acquired the Cheetah design from MTI and used it as the basis for their XM-998 vehicle entry into the HMMWV competitiion. |
