| Miscellaneous Info: | The ERC-90 F1 Lynx was initiated as a private venture by Panhard to capture export sales as well as to win the competition as France's replacement vehicle for the AML-90 Armored Car. The Lynx also used the same Hispano-Suiza turret and gun of the AML. Initially, France was not interested in the ERC. However, soon after orders by a number of other countries, they decided to buy them, albeit with some diferrences; most notably the turret and gun were changed. The new French variant was named the ERC-90 F4 Sagaie. Both F1 and F4 versions share many components with the Panhard VCR Armored Personnel Carrier. |
