Miscellaneous Info:	The M1037 (without winch) & M1042 (with winch) Shelter Carrier variants in the High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) series were designed to carry the S-250 and S-788 Electrical Equipment Shelters. They could also be used in other roles and duties, namely as a general utility vehicle. The M1037/1042 variants were not further developed past the first production series (A0) due to the creation of the more versatile M1097 Heavy HMMWV Variant, which replaced them in the later A1 series.  However, some of the M1037/1042 vehicles soldiered on after their early production dates, some going through a refurbishment program.  Lastly, the M1037 was used as the base vehicle for the early AN/TWQ-1 Avenger Air Defense Vehicle.
