Miscellaneous Info: The US Marines' Interim Fast Attack Vehicle (IFAV) was adopted to replace their aging M151A2 Fast Attack Vehicles in use by their elite units, such as Marine Force Recon.  The IFAV is based on the German Mercedes-Benz 290 GDT Long Bed "G-Wagen" and/or "Wolf". G-Wagen is shortened from Geländewagen, or cross-country vehicle in English. Although originally built without armor, some of the vehicles had light armored protection added later. The 157 produced IFAV''s served for approximately 10 years until replaced by the M1161 Growler Internally Transportable Vehicle.
