Miscellaneous Info: | The High Mobility Multi-Purpose Vehicle (HMMWV) M996 Mini-Ambulance was built to evacuate casualties for the U.S. Military. It is fitted with basic armor protection and a Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) contaminant filtration system. It can accommodate two (2) litter patients or four to six ambulatory casualties (or a mixed combination). It was only built in the A0 and A1 production series. Other HMMWV based ambulances are the M1035 Soft-Top Ambulance and M997 Maxi-Ambulance. |
