Miscellaneous Info: The Peugeot P4 Vehicule Leger Tout-Terrain (VLTT) replaced the long obsolete Hotchkiss built post-war M201 Jeeps in the early 1980's. The P4 design is based upon the Mercedes-Benz Geländewagen (G-Wagen)/Puch-G Utility Vehicle, although using a large proportion of French sourced components.  These include the engine, transmission, body-work and small fittings. The P4 was built in a variety of versions including short and long wheel base vehicles, soft/hard topped, armored (P4P Protege) and even custom fitted for Special Forces use (Panhard VPS 1, P4 PATSAS & VEHA). Although still in service at the time of writing (2018), the P4 is being replaced by a number of different vehicles including the ACMAT VLTP-NP (Ford Everest), Ford Ranger, Land Rover Defender HS/XD "Wolf", Panhard PVP, Arquus was (Renault Trucks Defense) Sherpa series and Technamm Masstech T4 (Toyota Land Cruiser).
