For our last update of the year, we present photos of the MaxxPro Dash MRAP, courtesy of Keith Ross.  With that, we want to thank all our visitors and wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year for 2013!

December 20th

Today, we only have a "wee" update which is related to more hobby modeling products being announced.  First, LZ Models is releasing a 1/35 GMC Otter Mk 1 LRC Detail Set (LZ35423) for the Mirror Models kit.   Second, Passion Models is putting out a 1/35 Schwimmwagen Detail Set (P35-088) for the Tamiya kit and generic (German?) 1/35 Rifle Rack Set for Softskins (P35V-009) and "Jenny's" Clamp for Softskins (P35V-010); which look like they can be used on the Kubelwagen and Schwimmwagen.

December 16th

After a long Hiatus, Stephen Tegner is back with interior, engine and detail photos of the South African M1923 Indian Pattern Armored Car.

Also, a couple more hobby modeling products have been announced.  They are Capricorn Publications book "GM Otter Mk. 1 Light Reconnaissance Car" (AW-11) authored by James Gosling & Petr Brojo and Jordi Rubio's 1/35 Spanish Civil War Era resin model kits of the Chevrolet M1937 Armoured car with T26 tank turret (JDR-8901), Chevrolet M1937 Armoured car with Machine Gun (JDR-8902) and Chevrolet M1937 Armoured Car with Machine Gun and Cannon (JDR-8903).

December 14th

  WW sponsor Military Machines International Magazine has released their January 2013 issue and it contains a couple articles relevant to us WFV aficionados (as well as many other features covering other military vehicles).  These Articles include: "Bulletin Board " (Highlighting Canadian light wheeled armored vehicle manufacturer Streit Group) by Shaun Connors, "Bush Tucker Trial " (covering the Bushmaster PMV) by Gordon Arthur, and "Death Row Pardon (Aussie Series IIA Land Rover Workshop) by Editor Ian Young.

December 11th

Today we present Patrick's review of another great WFV-related book titled "Israeli Improvised Armoured Vehicles & Jeeps: 1947-1949" authored by John Myszka and published by Mouse House Enterprises.

December 9th

Another AMPS-Chicagoland model club member, Sean Lynch, has sent us model photos.  Sean's photos are of his 1/35 Tamiya Jeep Model mounted on a Model Alliance Diorama Base

December 8th

Ryan Gill, one of the owners of the Humber Mark IV Armoured Car "Vandal" sent us more photos of that vehicle.  These pics are mostly of the "final" product, including interior shots.

December 6th

We have posted photos of AMPS-Chicagoland member, John Wager's 1/35 Resicast Morris CS9 Armored Car.

Also, two hobby modeling products were announced: 1/35 Mirror Model's CMP C15TA Ambulance Model Kit (35106) and Wings and Wheels Publications book titled "U.S. 4x4 MRAP MaxxPro in Detail" (G 032). 

December 3rd

Today we have a really great addition to WW.  Jim Burrill has sent us 50 photos of his completely restored Humber Mark IV Armoured Car "Vandal".  AND, Jim and other vehicle owners Ryan Gill and R. Katz want me to extend a VERY gracious offer to WW visitors.  They are willing to allow individuals with an interest in the Humber 4, to visit and check out "Vandal" up-close and personal; assuming those people can get to the Philadelphia USA area. December 2nd

There were more hobby modeling products announced lately.  These are The Bodi's 1/35 Jeep Conversion (canvas top and doors?) (35077); Bronco Model's 1/35 US GPW "Jeep" 1/4 ton 4x4 Utility Vehicle (Mod.1942) w/37mm Anti-Tank Gun M3A1 model kits (CB35107); and SKP Model's 1/35 C15TA Armoured Truck Model Kit (SKP 185).

November 28th

WW contibutor "7996" has sent us some photos from the National Library of Ireland, showing contemporary images of the Peerless Armoured Car and Irish Rolls-Royce 1920 Pattern vehicles.

November 27th

Just when we thought we had all our Humber Pig" stuff posted, we get more.  So, today we have two articles by noted "Pig" expert (and Editor of The Shorland Site) Clive Elliott, titled "Pig In A Poke" (Covering the Humber Pig Suspension and Problems) and "That's Not Right"  (Covering Early Pigs).  Enjoy.

November 25th

Since we've added even more "Pig" photos, we've decided to re-vamp our "Pig Page".  So, if you check it out, you'll find a number of new photos as well as an improved (we hope) Humber "Pig" vehicle index.

Also, we have a few more new hobby modeling products that have been recently announced.  These include DML's 1/35 SAS 1/4 Ton 4x4 (Jeep) Patrol Commander's Car model kit (6724); Echelon Fine Details' 1/35 "stick and peel" mirror sets for the Bronco Models Buffalo 6x6 MPCV 2004-2006 kit (M357149), Panda Hobby M-ATV MRAP kit (M357150) & Legend Productions' "Maxx Pro" 4x4 MRAP kit (M357997); and finally MK Model's  has announced a 1/35 "Grizzly" 450 Quad Bike & SMT 171 b trailer model kit (MKF3041).

November 23rd

After a long hiatus, we have a couple Humber "Pig" APC photos courtesy of Dave Haugh and new WW contributor Steve Rawlings.

November 15th

  WW Sponsor Military Machines International Magazine has released their December 2012 issue and it coined the "Global Tank Special". Although it focuses on tracked vehicles, it does have a number of WFV Photos (mostly from military vehicle shows) and one article dedicated to "Flying" Saxon Internal Security Patrol Vehicle. 

November 13th

Today, we have even more hobby modeling product announcements including Eduard's 1/35 BRDM-2 (Early) Scout Car Detail Set (36231) for the Trumpeter model and LZ Models' 1/35 C-15TA Back Seats (35419) and 1/35 C15TA Canvas Top (35420), both for the Mirror Model  kit.

November 12th

AFV Club (WW Sponsor) has sent us the box art and more "sprue shots" of their previously announced 1/35 AEC "Dorchester" ACV Model Kit (AF35227). 

November 6th

Unfortunately, real life has "gotten in the way" for Patrick with a death in the family, so we apologize for the lack of significant updates lately. 

Anyway, a couple more hobby modeling products have been announced.  The first is by Model Miniature in the form of their 1/72 M-325 Riot Version "Nun-Nun" (Police and Military) model kit ( MM-R101).  Also, Resicast has announced a 1/35 "Popski Private Army" Wasp Jeep Flamethrower Conversion (35.1226).

November 4th

There's only a small update today, which consists of hobby modeling product announcements.  The products are AC Models '1/35 Land Rover WMIK Crew with Stowage (ACM35005) For the Accurate Armour models/conversions and Hobby Boss model; and ET Model's 1/35 BTR-60PB APC Detail Set (E35-152) and 1/35 BRDM-2 Scout Car (Early version) Detail Set (E35-157), both for the applicable Trumpeter model kits.

October 29th

Today we have more photos of modern British vehicles courtesy of Ian Young and the UK MOD.  The photos cover the Mastiff PPV, Ridgback Medium Protected Urban Patrol Vehicle and Wolfhound 6x6 TSV (Heavy).

October 27th

It's "Foxhound Fest".  We have new pics of the Foxhound LPPV courtesy of Ian Young (Editor of Military Machines International Magazine) and the UK Ministry of Defence.  Also, courtesy of Ian we have photos of the related Ocelot Utility vehicle available at the same link.

October 25th

There's only a small update today; the listing of a hobby modeling product by SKP Model.  The product is their 1/35 FMTV/LMTV Tail Light/Lense Set (SKP162) for the Trumpeter model kits.

October 23rd

Today we have another submission by Ron Bell, this one being photos of his 1/32 Monogram M20 Utility Vehicle model kit.

October 22nd

Ron Bell is back with some photos of his modified 1/72 RPM Staghound Mark III model (with Airfix Turret).

October 21st

Content Editor Dave has come up with additional photos of the Austrian/German ADGZ Armored Car.

October 20th

  New co-sponsor Airfix Model World Magazine (with MMI shown below) has also released their November 2012 issue and it contains a build article on the Kinetic Models 1/35 M-ATV Model kit titled "Beating the Blast" by Paul Cawte. 

October 18th

There was one hobby modeling product announced by Resicast, a 1/35 LRDG Chevrolet Breda Gun Carrier conversion/update set (35.2346) for th Tamiya model kit (Truck/20mm AA Gun Combo).

October 17th

October 15th

Supacat has struck again with more info and photos for us; these of their HMT 4x4e Extenda Patrol Vehicle.  In addition, due to all the information we've gotten from Supacat, we've updated our Coyote TSV and Jackal High Mobility Weapons Platform vehicle indices as well.

October 14th

Today we have another submission from Supacat, this time information and photos covering their awesome looking Wildcat Light Armoured Utility Vehicle.

Also, there was one hobby modeling product announced by Blast Models; a 1/35 M-ATV "Spark+" Mine Roller (BL35188K) for the Panda Hobby model kit.

September 21st

September 18th

Kinetic Model Kits (Owned by WW sponsor, Lucky Model) has announced that they plan to release a 1/35 injection molded plastic model kit of the RG-31 MK3 US Army Mine-Protected APC (K61012).  More information as it becomes available. 

September 18th New WW contributor Matt Toms has sent us a MASSIVE number of detail photos of the Soviet BA-64B Armored Car.
September 16th We have another review available; this one of the Modelltrans 1/72 M1129 Stryker Mortar Carrier (MC-B) Conversion by Rob Teubert.

September 6th Brent Sauer, Editor of the great website "HMMWV In Scale" has sent us some additional photos of a replica 5-ton M54 APC Gun Truck.

Also, Model Miniature has announced another product for release, their 1/72 IDF Hamer (Hummer) Lynx (with Figure) (MM-R096).
September 2nd Content Editor Dave has provided some interesting photos of the C15TA Armored Truck in post-WWII service with the Spanish Foreign Legion.

Also, we have one hobby modeling product announced that is of interest of us "wheelies"; Miniman Factory's 1/35 Kraz-255 "GunTruck" model kit (35021) FYI, this "guntruck" is actually a Kraz Truck with D-30 122mm howitzer mounted in the cargo bed.
August 26th Matt is back with more detail photos of the M20 Utility Vehicle.
August 25th Today we have more photos from Matt, these being detail pics of a 1943 Willys MB Jeep utility vehicle.

August 6th AMPS Chicagoland member Mike Oberholtzer has sent us some photos of an Illinois National Guard M1165A1 HMMWV with B3 FRAG armor.
August 4th English Correspondent Martyn Smith has sent us some excellent detail photos of an RAF Regiment Jackal 1 SRV recently returned from Afghanistan.  Since the Jackal doesn't seem to have been repaired, fixed or repainted you will get a great idea of what "in-theatre" vehicles really look like.
August 2nd We're back with more Brazillian vehicles, these via Roberto "Jimmy" Yamamura. We have added his photos of the EE-9 Cascavel Armored Car and the EE-11 Urutu APC.

And, there was one hobby modeling product announced by Perfect Scale Models, a 1/35 USMC M1114 HMMWV Conversion Set (35092) for Bronco Models kit #35080.
July 30th Today we've posted Patrick's review of Samer Kassis' new book "Military Vehicles in Lebanon: 1975-1981". This book should be of interest to fellow "wheelies" as it contains photos of many different WFV's and "Technicals".
July 29th New WW contributor Edson Benardes, Jr. has sent us some photos of a Brazillian Gaucho 4x4 LSV.

July 5th Since were on the topic of forward-thinking American Colonel Royal Davidson, we figured we would now post a vehicle index of his second  armored car, the Davidson-Duryea Light 4-Wheeled Car as well as to add more photos of his Davidson Auto Battery Armored Car.
July 4th In honor of America's Independence Day Holiday today, we thought it appropriate to present a vehicle index covering our 1st recognized armored car, the Davidson-Duryea Light 3-Wheeled Car.
July 3rd Javier Villarroya del Real has sent us photos of a real Spanish RG-31 Mk5E vehicle to compliment his model kit shown below.

And Eduard has announced two hobby modeling products including the 1/35 GMC Truck with Bofors 40mm AA Gun detail set (36208) and Boxer MRAV detail set (36215), both for the applicable Hobby Boss model kits.
July 1st Do you like the Humber Scout Car Mark 2 as much as we do?  If so, you'll be pleased to know we've posted another 30 detail photos of that beast.
June 30th While poking around on the Oto-Melara company website, Patrick found a photo and some information regarding the 76mm Draco Multi-Role Turret, which can be mounted on the Centauro vehicle chassis.
June 29th Ralph has sent us another submission, this one being a photo (and vehicle index) of the German Enok LAPV.

June 27th Sean Hadfield has sent us some photos of his 1/35 USMC Mercedes-Benz "G-Wagen" IFAV Model. The model is a converted Revell of Germany G-Wagen kit.
June 26th Noted military vehicle author, Ralph Zwilling, is back with a photo (and vehicle index) of the German Serval Light Infantry Vehicle - Special Operations. 

Also, there have been a couple more hobby modeling products announced for release including Legend Productions 1/35 SPARK Mine Roller for Humvee (LF1246) and ET Model's 1/35 WWII U.S. Willys MB Jeep Detail Set (E35-126) For the Tamiya model and 1/35 Buffalo 6X6 MPCV Weighted Road Wheel Set (ER35-043) for the Bronco Models kit.

A couple weeks ago when Patrick attended the 2012 AMPS International Show and Convention, he was also able to get a tour of the AM General Military Assembly Plant in Mishawaka, Indiana USA.  Although during most of the tour he could not take photos, there were a few opportunities to do so and we will be posting them here in the next few days.  The first installment consists of photos of the more hard to reach areas of M1151 series of Humvees, including the Chassis and some cross sectioned run flat tires/wheels.   A special thanks to John W. and the folks at AM General for the awesome tour!

Echelon Fine Details has announced more 1/35 decals for WFV's.  Their newest set is titled "Jeeps In North Africa" (D356130) and include markings for a US Army Air Forces Correspondent Jeep in Tunisia as well as for British SAS Jeeps in North Africa.
