GREAT NEWS!
I am happy to officially announce that WW will be the home of the
complete 36-Issue Archive of David Haugh's
"Armored Car: The Wheeled Fighting Vehicle Journal".
Issues #1, #2,
#3, #4 and
David's topic/author index have been added for your viewing pleasure. Over the next
few weeks, I will be working to add the entire collection of ACJ issues, until all
36 will be housed here on WarWheels.Net.
I'd like to thank David Haugh for the opportunity to have WW host the ACJ archive and to make them available for the first time online since they were last printed in the mid-1990's. ACJ was printed from late 1990 through the middle of 1996 and was THE source for news/information about Armored Cars and Wheeled Fighting Vehicles. Although, the ACJ issues are between 10-15 years old, they hold up VERY well to this day. This is partially due to the fact that AC/WFV info is still very hard to come by, but mostly due to David's (and the other authors') great research and writing abilities. I hope you enjoy these issues as much as I do. |
November 22, 2005 | I am adding a link to a model kit review by Andrew Judson of the 1/35 Italeri LAV-Air Defense vehicle at Hyperscale. |
November 16, 2005 |
I am continuing to work
"behind the scenes" by adding stuff to pre-existing indices.
Again, check your favorite vehicle for any new info. Also, I will be announcing some great news soon. I don't want to go too much into detail yet, but WW will be the home of a nice chunk of armored car/WFV info in the next few weeks. I have been working out the details and this fact is now confirmed. The last thing I will say for now, is that this resource has never been available online before AND it hasn't been readily available anywhere for awhile either. More later. |
November 6-7, 2005 | While I have a little spare time this weekend, I am posting updated links to useful reviews, photos, etc... from other model and vehicle related websites. Check out your favorite vehicle to see if it has had any updated info added. |
November 4, 2005 | I've added the last photos provided by Dennis Trowbridge from his last Bovington Trip. The vehicles covered this time are the AEC Mark II Armored Car, the Humber Mark I Armored Car and the Panhard EBR . |
November 3, 2005 |
The following photos all
have been kindly provided by one of WarWheels' most committed
supporters, Dennis Trowbridge of Bristol, UK. Basically, he made
another trip to Bovington and took more photos of vehicles he'd already
provided content for awhile back (except the Vixen).
The vehicles we have more photos of due to Dennis' efforts are the Coventry Mark I Armored Car, the CVR(w) Vixen Liaison Vehicle, , the Marmon-Herrington Mark IV Armored Car and the T18E1 Boarhound Armored Car . Thanks again Dennis! |
October 31, 2005 | Only one small snippet of news today for an update. Cool news though, Academy is coming out with a 1/35 U.S. Iraqi Theater Hummer Guntruck. See a box art pic and info on Academy's website. |

With the invaluable
assistance of David Haugh, I've posted an index covering the
Davidson-Cadillac 1915 Armored
Car. Keith Paget has also provided a very nice photo of the Bovington Panhard EBR Armored Car. Also, there is news on Terry Ashley's Perth Military Modeling Site that Cyber-Hobby.com (a model company affiliated with Dragon Models) is coming out with a new tool 1/35 Sdkfz 234 Armored Car with 2cm Turret. This info looks to have been confirmed on the Missing Lynx Axis Discussion Board as well. We can only hope this is one of the first of many offerings of the Sdkfz 234 series! |
October 16, 2005 |
More Ferret Photos via
Keith Paget. This time they're of the

October 6, 2005 |
Sorry for the lack of
updates and postings lately on WW. Life has gotten in the way of
my work here, but hopefully things will get back to 'normal' (whatever
that may be). My latest addition is related to the 'mystery' Vehicle of the Week I've had on the WW homepage the last couple of weeks. The 'mystery vehicle' was identified as a Swiss MOWAG Anti-Tank Training Vehicle by Dave Haugh, and I've put up a link to a new index for it. |
September 19, 2005 |
I've added some wonderful
photos of the OT-64C/SKOT 2A APC
courtesy of our good friend David Haugh. Also, I've found another interesting review by (another friend of WW) Peter Brown on Missing Lynx. Peter's review is of the new 1/35 Maquette Soviet FAI-M Armored Car Kit. |

welcome a new contributor to WW. Keith Paget, of Northampton, UK

installment of photos covers the Saladin

Also, I've added some additional plastic modeling links as well. |

I've added another
hyperlink to the WW "Links" Section. This time, the newly added
site is dedicated to Czech Military Vehicles from the time period 1960

August 29, 2005 |
Well, we didn't get a 100 % for sure ID of the "vehicle of the week",
but per the thoughts of Dave Haugh (and myself), it looks like is a
mock-up of a German SDKFZ 222 armored
car. If anyone else comes up with some other info, please let me
know. Also, I've posted an interesting picture of a Daimler Dingo Mark II modified by the British during the Malayan Emergency in the late 1940's. Finally, I've posted an index for the M151A1C Mutt with 106mm Recoilless Rifle. |

First of all, I just want
to thank you all for your assistance in making WarWheels what it
is today. Without your help, WW would be a shell of itself and
very bare in information and pictures. Specifically, three
gentlemen have gone above and beyond the call to duty to in order to
help build WarWheels into a website with some promise. These men
are, Peter Brown, David Haugh and Dennis Trowbridge. Each one has
helped in different ways, but all have helped make WW into what it is
and what it can become. Thank you VERY MUCH for your support.
I have added some more photos of the Schwimmwagen courtesy of Dennis Trowbridge. Dennis took these pics at Beltring and Kemble. |
August 19, 2005 |
It is with sadness I report
that the JED Military Equipment Directory has become a pay-for-use site.
JED was a very nice site for information covering the entire spectrum of
military hardware. Therefore, I am removing all links to their
material on my site. Also, courtesy of Missing Lynx, I've learned of Trumpeter having some info available of their upcoming 1/35 LAV-25. See this link to Trumpeter. |

August 14, 2005 | I figured I better post something on the "What's New" section to let everyone know I am still alive.
